Helianthus DBT allows the operator to perform tomosynthesis exams by choosing between three scan angles: 15°, 24°, or 50°. Image acquisition is always carried out at the maximum resolution of the digital detector.
The narrowest angle –15°-is optimal when an extremely short scan time is required (2.5 s with an FFDM detector) to minimize movement, artifacts, and patient discomfort due to breast compression. This selection allows the operator to manage a large number of daily examinations and is particularly suitable for conducting screening programs.
The intermediate angle –24°-has a short scan time (4 s with an FFDM detector) and excellent sharpness. It guarantees a better resolution and is an optimal choice for standard diagnostics procedures.
The wide angle –50°-requiring a longer scan time (7.7 s with an FFDM detector) improves the discrimination of overlapping tissues and is the recommended choice in case of in-depth analysis and second-level readings.
The system features fully motorized movements that ensure smooth and precise control, with a vertical large positioning range (54 cm –145 cm) of Potter-Bucky from floor.
Smooth and precise positioning
Motorized control ensures accurate and effortless adjustments, reducing manual handling.
Faster workflow
A vertical speed of 5 cm/s minimizes setup time, improving efficiency during procedures.
Wide positioning range
It accommodates patients on wheelchair or with motor difficulties, enhancing versatility.
Speed of 20°/s with a range of -180°to +180°.
Reduced acquisition time
Faster rotation shortens procedure times, from one projection to another.
Angular coverage
The range allows complete imaging without repositioning the patient, ensuring flexibility for complex anatomies.
Operators can control movements from either side of the C-arm, improving convenience and reducing repositioning time.
Enhanced workflow efficiency
Immediate access to controls during procedures minimizes interruptions and speeds up adjustments.
Ergonomic operation
Rotating controllers allow smooth, precise breast compression, supporting procedures comfortably.
Multiple C-arm switches
one on the Tube cover and two on both sides of the C-Arm
A unique anti-scatter grid, made with the same production process that is used for semiconductors, is mounted in the Potter-Bucky of Helianthus DBT.
The use of the grid in all procedures, including tomosynthesis, makes the operation of this mammography system practical, reliable, and able to always deliver excellent diagnostic.
Intuitive operation
Touch screens provide easy access to system functions and clear visualization of the most important parameters.
Dual control convenience
Two panels allow access from different positions, improving workflow and flexibility during procedures.
Enhanced user experience
Interface with responsive touch.
Improved Operational Efficiency
Allow the operator to control key functions without interrupting the procedure, improving efficiency.
Enhanced workflow
Quick access to multiple commands via foot pedals reduces reliance on manual adjustments and speeds up positioning.
Comfortable Control
Minimizes operator fatigue by enabling intuitive, comfortable control during long procedures.
COMBO modality
Produces 2D and 3D images during the same compression cycle while applying a total radiation dose lower than the limits imposed by the EUREF protocol’s limits for conventional mammography.
“M-View/VI” Software
Produces 2D images directly from tomosynthesis images, without administering an additional radiation dose to the patient.
CEV – Contrast Enhancement Visualization
Helianthus DBT is upgradable to Contrast Enhancement Visualization Mammography.
The CEV technique combines X‑ray mammography with the intravenous administration of an iodinated contrast agent.
At the end of the acquisition, the algorithm automatically generates an enhanced image that highlights contrast uptake in tumor tissue, leveraging the increased absorption typical of malignant lesions.
This provides a clearer and more actionable visualization, supporting earlier detection and more confident clinical decision‑making.
Helianthus DBT can be integrated with two biopsy devices which are easily interchangeable with the Potter-Bucky and the magnification kit.
The “full version” device allows for vertical and lateral approach examinations.
The systems have no marking limits and allow the collection of multiple samples.
A wide range of supports and adapters allows the use of common needles, biopsy guns, and VABs.
This mix of mobility and stability makes AWS Plus easy to move, safe to use, and flexible for various room layouts.
